Duties:
- Perform administrative support functions for Motor Vehicle Enforcement (MVE) Office Director (Chief), Major, One Executive Officer 2 (Grant Manager), One MC Captain, Six Motor Vehicle Field Captains, Eleven Sergeants.
- Work with other law enforcement agencies, County Attorney s, County Clerks, Iowa Law Enforcement Academy (ILEA), and more.
- Perform duties of highly confidential nature such as credit reports, personal background checks, and new hire candidates.
- Review and process all invoices.
- Place yearly uniforms and accessories for officers; Process purchase orders as needed
- Compile statistical data to generate monthly and year to date reports (i.e. Scale Logs, renewals, and certifications)
- Coordinate, prepare and process all MVE personnel documents; Coordinate and prepare all MVE travel requests.
- Receive correspondence from the general public to inquires regarding vehicle inspection procedures, hiring processes and timelines, and other requests for assistance.
Shift: 8:00 am – 4:30pm Monday through Friday.

Minimum Qualification Requirements
Experience equal to two years of full-time general office work, one year of which must have involved secretarial or related administrative support duties;
ORpost high school course work in an accredited secretarial, business, or closely related curriculum may be substituted for the required experience on a month-for-month basis;
ORcompletion of thirty (30) semester (or equivalent) hours of undergraduate college level course work may be substituted for the one year of required general office experience;
ORcertification from the State of Iowa Administrative Assistant Certificate Program will substitute for six months of the required experience;
OR employees with current continuous experience in the state executive branch that includes the equivalent of one year of full-time work as a Secretary 1.
